5 easy-to-make Christmas decorations
Frosty paper snowflakes
Let it snow at home with this easy-to-make Christmas decoration! Cut out snowflakes from white paper. Make as many different sizes and patterns as you would like: large, small, four-pointed, six-pointed, spiky and rounded. Pour some granulated sugar onto a plate, brush both sides of the paper snowflakes with glue, dip them in the sugar, and voilà! Frosty snowflakes that twinkle and glitter in the light. Tie a string through the top and hang them up.

Snowy plastic beads
Do you have any beaders at home? This is the perfect Christmas decoration craft. Turn them loose on white or transparent plastic beads until you have piles of snowflakes to use as decorations. Hang them on your Christmas tree or use them as fridge magnets, necklaces, decorations on presents, brooches – a snowflake adds a touch of winter magic to just about anything!

Here’s a different Christmas decoration idea! Make a festive snow mobile by threading marshmallows on a string using a sewing needle. Tie a knot or a plastic bead under each marshmallow to stop it from sliding off the string. Hang them from a branch for a rustic feel.
If you want to cover up the dull, gray and not particularly wintry view from your windows, simply tape up large decorations made from white tissue paper. You can buy or make tissue paper pom-poms or flowers (there are plenty of DIY instructions online – it’s a lot easier and quicker than you might think). The light shines through the sheer paper for a delicate, wintry effect.
Sugar cube igloo candleholder
Make a sugar cube igloo for a tealight – a lovely Christmas decoration at home. Stack sugar cubes around a candleholder, keeping a safe distance between the candle itself and the sugar cubes. Glue the cubes together (you can also use icing).
It’s a good idea to use small LED lights instead of tealights to avoid any worries of a sugar meltdown. And be creative – everything in white can have a snowy feel that lights up the winter darkness.
